Winkflash is a photo book favorite, offering your images bound together in books that they have termed, "Winkbooks". Catchy name aside, these photobooks are actually pretty nice, with an abundance of design and customization options.

Making a Winkflash Photobook starts with registering an account and uploading your images to their website, arranged into albums. From your account page, select "Books" in the left hand side of the page. I found that navigating Winkflash's website is a little bit difficult, as things sometimes aren't very clearly marked (as in this case). From the books page, you can choose between the six options: Classic Covers, Classic Window Covers, Fabric Covers, Leather Covers, Custom Covers, and Spiral Winkbooks.

It's strange that you choose your finish and cover design before size, but that's the way they do it at Winkflash. Unfortunately once you choose your size and cover design you can't change it later. Choose your color or design, give your book a name, then click continue.

You can upload photos from this screen, but trust me it's better to upload them on your account page and just add them to your book from here. However this does afford you the opportunity to add some in that you may have forgotten, so it's nice to have the option. Winkflash here offers to autofill your photobook. I tried to do that initially, but apparently it doesn't quite work with Google Chrome. I had to switch over to Firefox then re-login, reselect my options, and continue from there. It was kind of a pain - so don't try to autofill if you're on Chrome! My woes aside, autofilling is a good option if you want to avoid spending hours designing your book. Plus, you can always make adjustments to it in the designing area if you don't quite like how it comes out.

I don't really care for the way their designing system works - images are drag and drop, but borders, layouts, and backgrounds you select. You choose whether to edit the page on the right or left by mousing over it - which can lead to a lot of mess-ups if you accidentally mouse over the wrong half of the page. There were a lot of pages I had to totally do over because of that. Besides that, though, it worked pretty well, and I think most people will find it manageable, though not the easiest thing ever.

Coming soon - once I receive the book I'll review it's quality in the editor review area of this page. Until then, please feel free to add your user reviews of Winkflash Photo Books!
