While I know that there are a couple of newer Sony digital camera models out there and there are several that are a step up from the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H20, I have to admit that for a normal person just needing a digital camera this one does everything I need and more. When I set out to get a new digital camera, I was more worried about quality and how well the camera would perform as I've bought several of the smaller, generic brands in the past with bad results. My kids are all in sports and active in school events, so I need something that will take good photos and won't lose them. I read a ton of different reviews online through different websites and I found that the Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-H20 got very good ratings - especially from people that weren't professionals.

I bought this one online and paid about $220 for it, and while it was more than I had originally wanted to spend, I have to admit that we cannot live without this little digital camera now. It was well worth the money. Here are some of the main reasons that my family and I love this camera:

1. It has a "burst" mode, where you just hold down the button and it will fire off a ton of shots. When my boys are playing baseball, I am able to get excellent shots of them hitting the ball and sliding and so on. They come out looking like images from Sports Illustrated. Pictures of our daughter cheering also come out wonderfully - we've caught pictures of her in mid-air, and some are so good even our friends think that we had a professional take them.

2. It is just way easy to use. We were both amazed at how easy it was to use as when you look at it, it looks a little intimidating. But, there are directions on the screen that will help you through anything and the interface is extremely user friendly. I did go ahead and read through the manual, and found several different modes and features that I have used a ton since then.

3. It has all of the features, modes, and functions that other, more expensive digital cameras have on them - such as the scene recognition, anti-blink, face detection, red-eye reduction, face memory, and smile detection. It even allows you to edit photos on the screen!

4. You can capture HD videos with just a few easy steps and will record up to 30 minutes. You can upload these and play them on any HD device.

5. As I mentioned the function guide is extremely easy to use and allows complete beginners to digital cameras the ability to see the different directions right on the screen.

There are so many other functions and things that this Sony digital camera does that it's hard to mention them all. I recommend this digital camera and sing it's praises to all of my friends and people that comment on the camera or my photos.
